There’s no short cut in terms of how to spot a sociopath because the sociopath gene can infect any personality type, whether it’s girl-next-door, geek, bad boy, jock. For example Richard Ramirez would be a bad boy (intense eyes) type sociopath vs. Jeffrey Dahmer who is a mature, shy type sociopath. Let’s take a normal person like Leonardo DiCaprio, what personality type is he? What demeanor does he have? He’s sort of like a sensitive type right? Now add in the sociopath gene, who do you get? Ted Bundy. Now I’m not saying Ted Bundy is actually sensitive, I’m saying he’s got the same DEMEANOR as a normal sensitive, nice guy

type. Am I making sense? It’s hard to recognize who is a sociopath because sociopath is NOT a personality type, it’s a f*cked up gene that can infect any type.Take normal bad boy type, Norman Reedus , add in sociopath gene; you get Richard Rameriz. Get it?
The first step is to be very aware of everyone that surrounds you, what type they are, etc… Every person falls under a personality type, people are not as complex as they want to believe. Personality type is defined by their demeanor because the demeanor/mannerism comes from the brain;

Other types, you must watch their demeanor. My point is, start noting pattern of behavior and labeling types in your head.

The third step is to always ask yourself why, why people around you do what they do. For example, I was sitting in the living room with friends, the girls were having some Vampire Diaries marathon, party thing. I forget what I was responded to but I said “you’re the hottest one here”. One of the other girls started to make Asian jokes. Why? She was jealous I complimented that Asian girl meaning, she has a little crush on me so I knew where I stood with her.
Know how to read people. An example is like, racist jokes or any form of degradation to some group (like homosexuals) is a dead give away to bitterness or insecurity – this will help you figure out where people are in their lives. People in power; people who are either beautiful or wealthy, are not usually racist or prejudice – they have no reason to be. Degradation of some group is usually a coping mechanism, a lie that one tell themselves to make themselves feel better. Now a sociopath might use racial slurs or act prejudice because they target the insecure, they use a sort of us vs. them illusion to bond.
Have a strong mind, know what’s real and what’s not. Race is not a modern day issue but lots of people think it is. People in power don’t care about color or orientation (in real life). The Entertainment industry might exploit the concepts to entertain because it’s popular among civilians. Sure, you have people who shout out racial slurs but, what kind of people are they? Insecure. Why? Because they’re the losers in life, they have no social power, nobody cares about what they say. Some celebrities use racial slurs or say something racist but motives are different, sometimes it’s to get attention (a cheap Entertainment tactic), others (like Michael Richards) are just trying to piss a specific person off so they attack race because everyone knows, that’s how you become offensive – his intention was to offend. I’m not here to explain a real racist mind to you, my main point is, pay attention to intentions.
The media make it seem like people in power are sociopaths but that’s only to scare people, to entertain them. I don’t think there are many high functioning sociopaths. Let’s be honest, most sociopaths are pathological liars to hide the fact that they’re f*cked up, they’re also delusional. If someone is delusional, I doubt they’d get very far. Don’t get me wrong, you definitely get some who were born into wealthy families but usually they’re rejects of their social class. For example: A story of how I came across a wealthy sociopath.
